A wonderful new app has emerged to help users purchase delicious restaurant food at a significant discount while helping the environment. Food For All is the startup that built the app, which allows you to buy food that restaurants did not sell by the end of the day and would otherwise be wasted. Users can save as much as 80% on their purchase when using the app. According to the company, over 40% of the food produced in the U.S. each year is wasted. The app is currently a prototype being tested in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with over 30 local restaurants participating in the pilot program. The company is currently raising funds via Kickstarter to finish building its app for iOS and Android devices and has plans to launch in Boston and NYC next summer. Let’s hope they achieve their fundraising goal and quickly get their app out to more markets.
